Question for the fomer/ still punks from erly 80s / late 70s?

Early Iron Maiden (with Paul Di'Anno on vocals) was pretty punkish, moreso than David Bowie anyway. Maybe The Ramones? Regards Exploited and The Casualties? Listen to music you like, not what you are told to like, punk is all about not following trends, funny how quickly it became filled with elitist idiots.
