What can i use instead of....?

ok so here it is...i planned to have a bank holiday BBQ, but unfortunately the weather has put a stop to that...but not one to be beaten we have decided to hold a fry-a-que instead, (meat already defrosted so needs using) the only problem i have now is..i have chopped all the veggies for the kebab skewers but haven't got any skewers.....any ideas what i can use instead....(all local shopps now closed unfortunately!!!)
