Question about traveling??

I'm going to seattle from reno this saturday but it isn't a direct flight. The first flight is from reno to utah, and then the second flight is from utah to seattle. If i get my baggage checked at the reno airport.. do i have to get it checked in utah or can i just go straight to the second flight. I'm obviously a first time flyer! haha help please!
